Bike to the highest motorable pass in the world, the Khardung La Pass, at an incredible height of 18,370ft.
This is a ride to some of the highest mountain passes in India, and amongst the most exhilarating.
Beginning at Manali, the tour will take you to Rohtang Pass, Baralachala Pass (4,892 m), Lachalangla Pass (5,065m) and the highest pass on this circuit, the 5,360m high Tanglangla Pass. After a stopover at Leh, you will proceed to the Khardungla Pass, 18,370ft. which is the world’s highest motorable point road.
The tour begins at the historic capital of India, New Delhi. On arrival, our guides will help you check into your hotel and also take you round the city. From Delhi, you will proceed to the hill town of Manali.
The first leg of the biking tour will cover 39km from Manali to Marhi. About 15km from Marhi lies the Rohtang Pass (3,980m). A night’s rest will see you rearing to bike 50km uphill to cross the famous Kunzam Pass (4,551m) and enter the Spiti Valley, home to some of the world’s oldest Buddhist monasteries. Get past Kibber, the highest village in the valley, and there lies before you 1,000-year old Ki Monastery (4,116 m). You can also get to see the Tabo and Dankar monasteries.
The tour will also take to the banks of the gurgling Sutlej river and the ever-so-pretty Sangla valley. The tour will end at Chitkul, from where you will be driven down to Shimla, the summer capital of the British when they ruled India, the modern city of Chandigarh, and finally Delhi.
